Brian Baldauf :
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
e profiled Brian Baldauf in an On Site issue nearly two years ago, when he served as a construction assistant for Standard Pacific, a Playa Vista contractor. While he’s still working for the same company, he has a different title now. He was recently promoted to a superintendent, overseeing construction activities for a Playa Vista condominium project, The Dorian. We caught up with Baldauf to see how he enjoys his new position. Here’s what he had to say:
On Site: How do you feel about being promoted to a superintendent?
Baldauf: I’m thrilled about my job. Being the boss is pretty exciting.
On Site: How did your promotion come about?
Baldauf: Last June, Standard Pacific asked me to come on board to work on the Dorian project. Then they asked me to take on more responsibility as a superintendent.
On Site: What impressed Standard Pacific to want to promote you to this level?
Baldauf: Hard work and diligence. I made it a point to be reliable and on time. I was also communicative with the buyers, vendors and tradesmen.
On Site: What’s your next goal with this company?
Baldauf: Standard Pacific has given me the training to do anything I’d like to try in the future.
