PV Jobs
Creating meaningful social change through coordinated services and career development
The PVJOBS successful model is rooted in strong collaborations with our partner agencies. We believe that allowing an agency to do what they do best is the most effective method for achieving successful outcomes. However, no single agency is expert at the myriad of issues an at-risk client may face. Therefore, a coordinated effort that uses each organization’s specialized expertise to service shared clients is central to positive outcomes.
Our Core Programs focus on construction trades employment and the supportive services required for entrance into these trades. For Core Programs, PVJOBS only accepts clients who are referred by a collaborating agency. To become a PVJOBS collaborator, organizations with at-risk clientele wishing to refer clients to PVJOBS must enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PVJOBS. Organizations interested in entering an MOU with PVJOBS should contact Executive Director Ernest Roberts at 323.432.3955 ext:188.
Once an MOU is established, clients must be referred to PVJOBS via an Application for Referral. The Application for Referral can be done online via a secure online database. The online database is designed so that collaborators and PVJOBS can share pertinent information on co-enrolled clients. Collaborators may track employment referrals, interviews, placement data (employer, wage rate, start date, etc) as well as view and input case notes.
Clients referred to PVJOBS must attend a PVJOBS orientation (held every Thursday at 10 a.m. at our main offices – 4112 S. Main Street, Los Angeles), and go through an individualized assessment and screening. Clients are then placed in a database pending the identification of an employment opportunity that meets their abilities and interests. There is no guarantee that any particular client will gain employment through our program. About 25% of clients referred to PVJOBS obtain placement through PVJOBS. Therefore, we encourage collaborators to inform clients that a referral to PVJOBS is an opportunity to gain meaningful employment, not the opportunity and they should continue their employment search with other resources.
Collaborators which have clients interested in the LACCD Interns Program, the e7 Architecture Studio or the Sustainable Media Studio must meet the eligibility requirements and self enroll per the instructions on those program pages.
