What is the PVJOBS Positive Pathways Program (P3)?
The PVJOBS Positive Pathway Program (P3) is a multi-level strategy to reduce community violence and improve the long-term labor market prospects of juvenile offenders from high poverty and high crime communities. PVJOBS P3 offers juvenile offenders support to overcome substantial risk factors, along with a ‘menu’ of educational & workforce development services to ensure they acquire the skills to advance their educational & vocational pursuits.
P3 flows through three critical phases to realize client goals: Intake and Assessment; Pathway Design; and Navigation Support. Youth are viewed as active partners rather than passive clients and as such are involved in the planning, implementation and design of their pathway, since they are experts in their own experiences and capabilities. Successful program outcomes include increased job skills, academic achievement and sustainable employment.
