PVJOBS Launches Sound Engineering Pathway

PVJOBS has collaborated with JRich ENT to create a new and innovative sound engineering training program. The career pathway program provides hands-on training, workshops and information on the skills needed to embark on a career in the music industry.

The pathway program trains participants to operate various engineering components, such as post-production audio, mastering and location sound. Participants will also study the art of mastering equipment and frequency control, among other techniques. PVJOBS offers the training course to expose individuals to alternative subjects that enable them to work in high-demand fields, like sound engineering.

The training program’s course subjects include:
• A/V Basics and Standards
• Basic Sound for Film
• Financial Literacy
• Intro to Music Business
• Invoicing
• Live Sound Fundamentals
• Loudness Standards and How to Measure Them
• Networking Strategies
• Podcast Recording and Editing

Participants who complete the sound engineering training program will be eligible for such positions as a mastering engineer, re-recording engineer or an SFX editor. PVJOBS also assigns case managers to prep participants with job-readiness skills to assist them with employment preparation and placement.
