500+ Gift Cards Handed Out to Families in Need

To kick off the Thanksgiving holiday in November, PVJOBS staff, program participants and volunteers handed out 500+ gift cards and canned food to South L.A. families in need. The giveaway event is hosted by PVJOBS each year to support low-income residents and their families during the Thanksgiving holiday. 

“As we continue to serve local community members who are in need of employment opportunities, we are also in service to our neighboring residents who seek our support as well,” said PVJOBS Executive Director Mary Taylor. “We’re holding our Thanksgiving giveaway event for a twelfth consecutive year to demonstrate that PVJOBS is here to support all of our neighbors in need.”

The giveaway was a walk-up event for local residents to pick-up their gift cards and canned food in person. These items were handed out on a first-come, first-served basis until all were fully distributed. Hundreds of local residents lined up at the event to receive these giveaway items.
